The Detangling Tango

I try to use healthy beauty products for my family. No parabens, fragrances, and other yuckies for us. For the adults in our family, I find Whole Foods 365 brand shampoo, conditioner and lotion fit the MommyGuyver bill for being cheap and green.

For infants and toddlers, it isn’t so easy. When my doctor suggested using hair conditioner for my toddler’s dry scalp (duh!), I bought an eco-friendly brand I trust: California Kids. However, that’s about 10 bucks for a small bottle. Yikes!

This easy MommyGuyver tip I found in a parenting magazine on the parent’s advice page. I put a few globs of the conditioner in a spray bottle and fill the rest with water. Shake it up well and it’s a great detangler/leave in conditioner for my daughters long hair! Heck, I even use it once in a while. Makes that expensive eco-friendly bottle of conditioner last months longer!

Total Cost: $11
10 bucks for the conditioner (which says that it’s a rinse OR a leave in conditioner)
$1 for a travel size spray bottle

Time: 37 seconds
Result: silky, tangle-free, frizz-free locks for months to come!
